I love NFL football and long fall afternoons on happy hour patios.  I am from a small town, the youngest in my family tree and the anti-alpha to my wonderful rescue pup, Lincoln.  I’m into brunch, swimming, gardening … and raising baby goats (ok, that is only in my dreams so far!). I read the newspaper every morning with my husband, our baby daughter and our friend coffee.   I laugh often.  I am happy to talk politics and celebrity gossip, within the same sitting.   I wear flip flops, a t-shirt and jeans whenever possible.  AND, I love getting to know my clients and watching their families grow.

What else?   I took my first photography class over ten years ago while studying abroad in Sydney, Australia.  I will take any excuse to travel, so… I studied in Paris (France), Sydney (Australia), Austin (Texas), and Manoa (Hawaii) before earning my degree in Environmental Design at CU Boulder.  My love for art and design led me to work in the architecture industry before following my heart to photography full time in 2008.  After many classes, workshops, second shooting gigs, and odd photo jobs… Rendition studios was born. There is no looking back, this is what I am meant to do.

Elements of Portrait Photography that I love…  Strong depth of field, storytelling imagery, and unique compositional photography.  Seeing someone relax in front of my camera, laugh lines, honest and soulful eyes, imperfections, letting things happen, bokeh, wrinkled hands, colorful and expressive accessories, laughing and smiling with conviction. Texture and detail, truth telling images, backgrounds that contrast the dress of the person being photographed, learning something new every day…
