Every once and awhile I have a job that makes me so happy (and thankful) that I get to do what I do. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE what I do most of the time… BUT, some moments are just really special.
Today was one of those days. I have been photographing Dawn and Ryan’s little girls for years. I have taken their family portraits and had the honor of watching these charming girls grow in front of my lens. Then a couple weeks ago, Dawn asked if I would be available and interested in photographing their wedding. After 7 years and 2 girls, they were doing it. Their little awesome family, doing it their way, on a Friday at the Denver Courthouse. No drama, no fluff. Perfectly simple and incredibly authentic.
The girls chanted “Princess Mommy” and then “Judge” as Ryan drove them the short distance into the city. The girls carried their flowers into the courtroom, made introductions and then got down to it. There was was nervousness at first (by all present), then hand holding, vows and rings from hidden bridal pockets, a celebratory kiss, an official document signing, a fingerprint and a reluctant witness… followed by shoe talk. The ceremony took just long enough for the wind to pass and the weather to clear, the timing could not have been better.
I know this newlywed couple has many friends and family they want to share this event with. Here are some previews to share and enjoy, thanks again to Dawn and Ryan for having me there.
